

Lois Boltin Tucker passed away on March 13, 2026, at the age of 98. Born on August 17, 1927 in Orangeburg, SC, she was the youngest daughter of the late Paul Arthur Boltin and Vernon Whisenhunt Boltin. She was married to Marshall Tucker for 50 years before he passed away on January 20, 2023.
Lois graduated from the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind in Spartanburg, SC. After graduation, she attended school in Minneapolis, Minnesota for switchboard training in 1958. She was employed by Kohn’s Women Apparel from 1959 to 1964 then Seibels Bruce Insurance Company from 1964 to 1989. She was a switchboard receptionist and supervised other coworkers. After 25 years, she retired at Seibels Bruce Insurance Company.
Lois was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for 30 years. She was also a member of the SC Federation of the Blind, where she served as state president for 4 years.
Surviving are her stepdaughters, Deborah Tucker Duval and Anita Tucker Satterfield; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many Boltin nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one brother, and five sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 19, 2026 in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:30 am prior to the service at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. She expressed to her niece she wanted to be buried in her wedding dress because her years of marriage to Marshall were the best years of her life.
