Marian Coleman Allen

COLUMBIA - Memorial service for Marian Coleman Allen, 72, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2014, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. The family will receive friends from 3 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Allen died Thursday, September 25, 2014. Born in Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of Thalia Barbour Coleman and the late Raymond Coleman. Mrs. Allen was a graduate of Mint Hill High School, Charlotte, N.C. and attended the University of South Carolina. She managed the law firm of Allen, Gantt and Best for many years and was an avid bridge player. Mrs. Allen was a member of Greenlawn Baptist Church. Surviving are her children, Veronica Reynolds Alasad (Bashar) of Edmond, Okla., Shelley Reynolds Edwards (Chris) of Lexington, Sheryl Allen Moore (Tim) of Mt. Pleasant, John Baker Allen, III “Tripp” (Denise) of Aiken; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her mother of Bonita Springs, Fla.; and sister, T. Rae Coleman of Seattle, Wash. She was predeceased by her husband, John B.
