Marie Crowder

COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Marie Sullivan Crowder, 96, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Long Creek Church of Christ, with a private burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.

Mrs. Crowder died Saturday, April 2, 2022. Born in Murfreesboro, TN, she was the daughter of the late Robert Reed Vaughan and Eve Pauline Thomas Vaughan. She worked for Sears for many years and retired from the Columbia Mall store. Marie enjoyed gardening and loved her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was a founding member of Long Creek Church of Christ.

Surviving are her daughters, Linda Brown (Thomas), and Faye Erickson, both of Columbia, SC; granddaughter, Christine Marie Amaker; grandsons, Eric Todd Erickson (Melanie), and R. Lee Wilson (Gladys); and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, John Lee Sullivan; her second husband, Charles Lindburg Crowder; brothers, William Robert Vaughan and D.O. Vaughan; and son-in-law, Eric N. Erickson.
