To Martie’s sisters and family, there are no words to express the deep sorrow I feel for your loss. I wish you healing and peace in the days to come. Martie was my colleague at WRAAA for the 13 years that I spent there. She also became my friend and supplier of watches - I must have at least 4 that she gave me over the years. Martie’s generosity went far beyond materials gifts. She had a huge heart that was open to all and a rare authenticity that endeared her to so many. Bless you, Martie McParland, a thousand blessings on you!

Marti was a client of ours here in Cleveland, and my wife and I got along so well with her. Marti was so sweet, with dancing eyes that were always looking for fun. She loved our two dogs and wanted to meet them in the worst way. We scheduled our next meeting at our office, so that she could do just that! Marti was always there with a friendly word, a kind comment. She was genuinely a sweet lady and we are saddened to hear of her passing. There are people you meet along the way who will stay with you, and Marti is one of those people. Our sympathy to her family and friends.

I had the pleasure of meeting Marty at our gym. I was fortunate to be able to spend at least 30 minutes a week hearing the stories of her work, her Rotary and above all else her beloved family. Marty always wore her beautiful smile and expressed kindness and concern for others. I know that she will be missed by many. Sending love and peace to all who love her so dearly.

I met Martie when she joined Spring Valley Rotary and immediately took to her—how could you not? It was more than the things we had in common: dogs, social work, time spent in Ohio etc. It was her sunny attitude, her willingness to dig right in, and of course, her ever present smile. She’s one of the people I missed most when I moved to AL, but thanks to FaceBook we were in touch in some way nearly every day. She was a generous, loving person. I will miss her but feel blessed to have known her. My deepest condolences to her entire family.

Martie was affectionately called "McP" by me over the years of our friendship. An energetic and sweet woman who never met a stranger on the road of life. My deepest condolences to the family. Much love.
