COLUMBIA – Mary Alice Malone, 87, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021. She was born in Anderson County, Belton, S.C., to the late James McKenney and Geneva Hannah McKenney. She was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Hannah.
Mary Alice met and married the love of her life in Belton, Milton “Bill” E. Malone. She was a dedicated military wife and mother, moving to many states in the U.S. until eventually residing in Columbia, S.C. She worked at U.S. Textiles until its closing. She loved entertaining, visiting with family and friends, reading, cooking, vacationing at the beach, and shopping.
Mary Alice is survived by her husband of 69 years, Milton E. Malone; four children, Jana (Eddie) Jones, Vicki (David) Hunter, Lori (Gerald) Livingston, and Greg (Anna) Malone; eleven grandchildren, Chad, Eli, Sabrina, Chantley, Marla, Candice, Cody, Amanda, Sarah, Bradley, and Makayla; nine great-grandchildren, Amber, Noah, Ethan, Kyndal, Tate, Gunnar, Hailey, Grace, and Gabby; and one great-great-grandchild, Malcolm. She will be missed by all that knew her.
A private graveside service will be held in Fort Jackson National Cemetery on Thursday, March 4, 2021.
