Mary Knox Johnson

COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Mary Nell Knox Johnson, 94, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Pine Bluff Baptist Church, with burial in Olympia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2018, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.

Mrs. Johnson died Saturday, October 20, 2018. Born in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Knox and Lena Paschal Knox. She was a retired Operator for Southern Bell. She was a member of Southern Bell Pioneers and Pine Bluff Baptist Church.

Surviving are her sons, Charlie B. Johnson, Jr. (Diana) and Phillip M. Johnson (Patricia); daughter, Cynthia J. Wingard (Tally); sisters, Martha Hucks and Shirley Knox; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Brooks Johnson, Sr. and her daughter, Mary Beth Johnson.
