Mary Knuckley McKinney

COLUMBIA A memorial mass for Mary Knuckley McKinney, 72, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in the church memorial gardens. The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with visitation following until 8:00 p.m.

Mary died Monday, March 30, 2015. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Albert Joseph and Marie Bellamah Knuckley. She attended St. Peter’s School and graduated from Cardinal Newman High School and Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY. She retired as a manager with Computer Sciences Corp. and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Throughout her life, she volunteered her time helping others. She served on the board of directors for Carolina Sunshine For Children, helping families of children with terminal illnesses. She was an active volunteer for many years in many capacities at St. Joseph’s Church and was an active member of the Syrian-Lebanese American Society.

Surviving are her husband, Cole H. McKinney, II; sons, Cole H. McKinney, III (Kay Jarrell) of Rock Hill, Mark H. McKinney (Caroline Pregnall) of Charleston; sister, Jeanette Murphy of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren, Christopher, Hannah, Jonathan and Alexander McKinney. She was predeceased by two brothers, Dr. Joseph Knuckley and Robert Knuckley.
