Mary Martha Root

COLUMBIA - Memorial service for Mary Martha Root, 93, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2015, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Burial will be at a later date in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Des Moines. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Root died Friday, February 13, 2015. Born in Carlisle, Iowa, she was a daughter of the late Charles Campbell and Arena Leona Sargent Campbell. Surviving are her sons, Robert O’Neal of Zavalla, Texas, Ronald O’Neal (Stephanie) of Columbia; step-son, Artie Root (Pam) of Des Moines, Iowa; and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by first husband, Leonard O’Neal; second husband, Art W. Root; and daughter, Debra Dannielson. The family would like to recognize and thank the staff of Sterling House of Parkland for all their love and care over the past three years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blythewood Baptist Church, 101 Bass Road, Blythewood, SC 29016.
