Mildred Gardner Lowman

Mildred (Micky) Lee Steen Gardner Lowman, 80, of Irmo SC, promoted peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 26, 2026. Micky was born on May 25, 1946 in White Oak, Chesterfield County SC. She was the daughter of the late Willie Edward (Elwalk) Steen and Bessie Lee Steen. She was then adopted by the late Roland Miller Gardner and Esther Evelyn Kelly of Jefferson, SC in 1954. Micky was a graduate of Irmo High School. She was employed with Colonial Life Insurance until retirement.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick (Fred, Sonny) Denver Lowman Sr. of Irmo SC. She is survived by her sister, Rebecca (Emma) Steen Gardner Looney of Conway SC; her children, Frederick (Freddie) Denver Lowman Jr. of Irmo, SC and Teresa Diane Lowman Royson of Chapin, SC. She was a proud grandma to Ashley Lowman, Lindsey Royson, William (Tommy) Royson IV and two great grand-children Bentley Shinn and Grayson Ricciardi. She loved being an aunt to her niece Joy Looney James and nephews Johnnie and Destry Looney. Micky also leaves behind her beloved pet Oreo.

Micky was very family focused and passionate about the Lord. The people she loved never had to worry about how much they mattered to her. Her love for her family was undeniable. She spent her time enjoying the outdoors doing yard work and walking her precious dog Oreo everyday. Two of her favorite things to say were “God is so good” and “You have to trust God.” Micky is happy and safe with the Lord, this we can guarantee.

A private immediate family service will be held Friday, June 12, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
