Born on January 16, 1928, she was the daughter of William Lawrence Greene and Ozalee Hall Greene. Millie was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Joseph Charles Mullock.
She was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, church and community. Mrs. Millie was an active member of the church founded by her grandmother, Kilbourne Park Baptist Church, for nearly all her life. Whether it be playing handbells and singing in the Choir or educating small children as a Sunday School Teacher of 4 & 5 year olds for 62 years, she strove to ensure others knew God as our only Savior. Mrs. Millie also served in various leadership positions for the National Southern Baptist Convention, educating others on how to bring families closer to the Lord and salvation. She served as an Epworth Children’s Home Den Mother, led youth trips to Summer Church Camp in Ridgecrest NC and participated in missionary trips around the world, including Brazil and Cuba.
Through all stages of her life, Mrs. Millie lived her life in the joy of Christ’s love. Whether it was during her time as Dreher High School’s drum majorette, co-hosting Church Fish Frys with Joe or on vacation trips with best friends Phyllis and Arnold Simpkins, Millie brought cheer and humor to all she did. She was a complete example of one of the Lord’s children, a true Christian.
She is survived by her son, Michael Patrick Mullock and his wife of 7 years, a niece and several cousins, including Raymond Greene, with whom she was especially close.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Kilbourne Park Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
Memorial gifts may be made to Epworth Children’s Home, 2900 Millwood Avenue, Columbia SC 29205.
