Mrs. Mildred Poe Strickland

COLUMBIA Funeral service for Mildred Poe Strickland, 85, will be held 12:00 noon Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Resurrection Lutheran Church, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11 until 12:00 noon at the church prior to the service. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Mrs. Strickland died Sunday, July 5, 2015. Born in Montgomery County, N.C., she was a daughter of the late William E. and Bertha Mae Cashatt Poe. She was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church. Surviving are her husband, Robert B. Strickland Jr.; son, Robert B. Strickland III (Patsy) of Pawleys Island; four grandchildren, Robert B. Strickland IV (Christine) of Myrtle Beach, Allyson Ladd of Pawleys Island, Gray Ladd (Leigh) of Washington, D.C., Graham Ladd (Tanya) of Pawleys Island; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Poe (Shirley) of Lavonia, Ga.; two sisters, Nancy P. Spires of Leesville and Mary P. Rice of Gilbert. She was predeceased by a son, William Keith Strickland and a brother, Roy Poe. The family wishes to thank Agapé Hospice for their care during her illness.
