Moses De La Rosa

COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Moses De La Rosa, 74, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. De La Rosa died Saturday, January 11, 2025. Born in New York City, New York, he was a son of the late Joseph De La Rosa and Mary Colon De La Rosa. He was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School in New York, and Midlands Technical College. Moses was the proud owner of Auto Service Equipment. He enjoyed cooking, watching sci-fi, taking his grandchildren out, and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Luisa De La Rosa; children, Lisa De La Rosa, Moses A. De La Rosa, and Alexander G. De La Rosa (Alison); grandchildren, Matthew De La Rosa, Rowan De La Rosa, and Emilia De La Rosa; brother, Mariano Rivera; and sister, Marvelyn Rivera.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Lynda De La Rosa.
