Nancy Thomas Rentz, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on October 15, 2026. She was born on September 12, 1952, in Fairfax, South Carolina, to Lenwood Rizer Thomas Jr. and Jeraldine Thomas.
Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, David Rentz Sr.; her children, David Rentz Jr (Sarah) and Crystal Ebron (Jason); her grandchildren, Erika Brazell, Rebecca Zwisle, and Zachary Zwisle; and her great-granddaughter, Arabella Taylor.
For 42 years, Nancy dedicated her life to caring for others as a NICU nurse. Her compassion, kindness, and devotion touched the lives of countless children and families. She cherished spending time with her family, visiting the mountains and the beach, and participating as a dedicated member of the APA pool league.
Nancy's loving spirit, generous heart, and unwavering dedication will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. Her memory will live on through her family, the lives she touched, and the many special moments she shared with those she loved.
A memorial service celebrating Nancy's life will be held at 12:30 pm on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm.
