LEXINGTON - Pearl Woodcock Schilling enjoyed a heavenly reunion with her late husband, Ray Eugene Schilling, on March 17, 2019. She was born on April 30, 1928, in Pelzer SC, giving her family and friends 90 wonderful years of love, devotion, and service.
She was also predeceased by her parents, Liston Livingston Woodcock and Louise Shealey Woodcock, sixteen Woodcock siblings, and two sons-in-law, Tommy Stone and Tom Hibbard.
In 1953, Pearl Schilling received her RN degree from the Medical College of South Carolina, in Charleston SC. She spent the next 41 years nursing patients at Williamston Hospital in Williamston SC, St. Francis Hospital in Greenville SC, and with the Family Practice of Dr. Koontz in Pelzer SC. She spent her free time volunteering her nursing services to family members and neighbors with medical needs.
She is survived by a sister, Bobbie Sue Faulkner, of Mount Pleasant SC and a multitude of loving nieces and nephews.
She will also be dearly missed by her surviving children, Janet Bailey (Dow), Judy Stone, Joni Hibbard, and Jeff Schilling (Kelly), nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Pearl Schilling was a current member of Shandon Presbyterian Church, Columbia SC and a former long-term member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Piedmont SC.
There will be a private family memorial service at a later date. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the Presbyterian Communities of SC – Charitable Care Fund, 2817 Ashland Road, Columbia SC 29210, or to a church that is special to you.
