Pearle Ray Morris

COLUMBIA - Funeral service for Pearle Ray Key Morris, 82, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Mrs. Morris died Monday, January 5, 2015. She was a daughter of the late J. Reid Key and Pearl Wiggins. She graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1954 where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honorary Society. Mrs. Morris was a school teacher with Timmerman School until she retired, but taught in other systems for a total of 49 years. She was a member of SC Historical Society; member and past president of SC Doll Club; member and past president of SC Miniature Doll Club. Mrs. Morris was also a member of Moovin Dance Group and an avid gardener. Surviving are her son, Dana Allen Morris; daughter, Vickie Lynne Morris McNeill (David); grandchildren, Rebecca Leigh Morris, Charles David “Chip” McNeill, Jr., Morgan Layne Morris, Caitlynne Ray McNeill; Niece, Lori Ann Saunders. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Allen Morris and a sister, Barbara Reid Malloy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Timmerman School, 2219 Atascadero Drive, Columbia, SC 29206.
