Peggy was bornMay 14, 1933, the last of thirteen highly-spirited children in Camden, South Carolina, to Belton Everod and Minnie Boyce Jennings.
Mrs. Areheart, was a passionate gardener, an avid reader and a lover of rock and roll and Turner Classic Movies. One would have been hard pressed to name a movie made before 1970, which she had not seen and could not tell you the plot, the names of the actors, as well as the director.
She was married for forty-two years to Carroll Douglas Areheart who passed away in 1993. In addition to her parents, six brothers and six sisters, one of whom died in childhood, also predecease her.
She is survived by her sons; John Douglas (Sherry Areheart), Kevin Woodrow (Flower Areheart) of Columbia, her daughter, Shaye Areheart (Jaime Bernanke) of New York, as well as her beloved grandchildren, Heidi Raquel Areheart, Jaime Hayes Areheart, Kevin Douglas Areheart, all of Columbia, and numerous nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
