Phyllis Phillips Giese

COLUMBIA - Phyllis Phillips Giese, born July 3, 1927, passed away peacefully at home. She was the daughter of Howard and Edna Phillips, and was predeceased by her husband, Warren Kenneth Giese. Phyllis graduated from Alma College with a Bachelors of Art degree. She is survived by her children, Alison Haas (Jack), BZ Giese, Barney Giese (Charlotte), and Keith Giese (Shawn), as well as 7 wonderful grandchildren, Kelly, Phillip, Kristen, Kate, John, Metta and Keith. Phyllis was active in the arts at SCETV and the Columbia Museum while raising the family, and also was the author of several books about the Civil War. While she spent 60 years as a devoted spouse, Phyllis also took great pride in always being there for her family whenever and for whatever they needed. Phyllis found abundant happiness being around her family, and she will be greatly missed. A private family service will be held.
