Ms. Rebecca Shannon Lewis

COLUMBIA - Rebecca Shannon Lewis, 43, died at home Tuesday, December 2, 2014. Born in Heidelberg, Germany, on September 18, 1971, she was the daughter of Robert W. Lewis U.S. Army (Ret.) and Katherine S. Lewis. Miss Lewis graduated from Richland Northeast High School, attended Gardner-Webb University, Midlands Technical College and Columbia Junior College. She was a former employee of Palmetto Health, I.T. Department and Stylish Petz. Surviving are her parents of Columbia; brother, Shawn Lewis of Texas; special niece and nephew, Breeanna and Zachary Lewis; several aunts, cousins, and her beloved pet, Solitaire. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Daisy and John Wheeler, and Daniel Gosney; paternal grandparents, Paul and Lillian Lewis; and special cousin, Lori Tillinghast Ferrell. A celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2014, from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at The Golden Corral, 5300 Forest Drive, Columbia, South Carolina. Funeral services will be held at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, West Virginia with Rev. Michael Temple officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made in Shannon’s name to your local Humane Society.
