Rena Smith King

COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Rena Smith King, 87, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Mrs. King died Friday, December 30, 2016. Born in Bamberg, she was a daughter of the late Ed and Hazel Neal Smith. She was a member of St. Andrews Baptist Church. Surviving are her sons, James E. Dyches (Thelma Beckham, special friend of the family) of Blythewood, Frank L. King Jr. of Columbia; daughters, Jimmie Ann Addison of Columbia, June Bristol-Andren (Bill Andren) of Columbia; sister, Skeet Dorenus (Denny) of Columbia; grandchildren, Jimmy Carter (Jami), Ashley Addison, Justin Bristol (Jennifer); five great-grandchildren; and numerous loved niece and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank L. King Sr.; and sisters, Gloria Hurt, Betty Hailey and Gennie Lee Wright; and a brother, Bill Smith.
