Richard Sanders Dyer Jr.

COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Richard Sanders Dyer, Jr., 64, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Dyer died Monday, March 7, 2016. Born in Greensboro, he was a son of Richard Sanders Dyer, Sr. and the late Georgianna Elliott Dyer. After graduating from South Mecklenburg High School, he worked in the family car business. He later branched out in 1977 to open Dyer & Dyer Volvo in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Dyer was currently working as a partner of Dick Dyer & Associates in Columbia. He was a man full of life and passion for many things including movies, cars, food, dogs and most importantly, helping other people. In addition to his father, Dick Dyer, Sr. (Beth), he is survived by his sons, Darin Dyer (Susan) and Wesley Dyer; brothers, Taylor, Andy and Blake Dyer; grandchildren, Nikki Dyer, Geoffrey Benedetto, Chelsea King (Cody), Emma Dyer, Noah Dyer, Kaitlyn VanDeVelde (Shane); loving nieces and nephews, Hunt Dyer (Michelle), Jamie Dyer, Stephanie Dyer, Natalie Dyer, Sarah Jane Dyer, Andrew Dyer, Rasner and Jackson Dyer; cousins, Bruce Dyer (Ginger), Paige Dyer and Ashley Howard (Will), Rob Dyer, Hank Dyer and Jena Dyer; great niece, Iva Elle; great-grandson, Gavin; and his beloved dog, Kiki.
