Richard Ward Lucas

COLUMBIA A graveside service for Richard Ward “Rick” Lucas, 64, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018 in Fort Jackson Cemetery Columbarium. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is in charge.

Mr. Lucas passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018. Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late Martha Viola Sloan Lucas and John Gary Lucas, Sr.

Rick was a 1972 graduate of Swansea High School and served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He was a member of Swansea Baptist Church and loved spending time with his grandkids.

Surviving are his wife, Deborah Baxley Lucas; children, Kristen Corley (Robby), Karla Lucas, Crystal Torres, and Brandon Torres; grandkids, Jenna Kaye, Harlie Corley, Brandon Tyler Torres, Brianna Torres; brother, Joseph P. Lucas; and sisters, Nancy L. Kitchens and Irene L. Epting (James).

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, William Lucas and John Gary “Jack” Lucas, Jr.; and sister, Emily Ann Lucas.
