West Columbia, SC – Ronald Simpson, 77, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 27, 2025. A man of faith, proud veteran (recipient of two Bronze Stars), and passionate outdoorsman, Ron lived with joy and enthusiasm, leaving a lasting legacy of love and inspiration.
Born on March 3, 1948 in Greenville, SC, Ron devoted his life to serving God and country. As an Army veteran, he carried his patriotism with honor, touching lives with his commitment. His love for hunting and fishing brought him peace and joy, whether casting a line or exploring the woods. Ron’s passion for life shone through in every moment, from sharing stories to spreading warmth with his infectious love for family and friends.
His laughter, kindness, and spirit will forever be in the hearts of those who knew him.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Teri Simpson, son Jason Simpson (Kari), Step-son Michael Powell (Christi), and granddaughters Madison and Kayla. He was preceded in death by his mother and father MM (Barney) and Zona Simpson.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC, on Friday, July 18 at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a veteran’s organization, church of your choice, or charity, such as Wounded Warrior Project or Samaritan's Purse.
Ron’s light will continue to shine in our memories. May he rest in eternal peace.
