Russell White Templeton

COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Russell White Templeton, 89, will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Forest Lake Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends during a reception following the service at the church. Burial will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

Mr. Templeton passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025. Born on October 7, 1935, in Simpsonville, SC, he was the son of the late Bramlett Russell and Agnes White Templeton. He graduated from Columbia High School, the University of South Carolina, and the University of South Carolina School of Law. He was a self-employed attorney for many years. Russell served in the U.S. Navy as a pilot. He was a member of Forest Lake Presbyterian Church where he formerly served as an Elder.

Mr. Templeton is preceded in death by his daughter, Keena Britt Templeton, and his sister, Gwendolyn Boswell Brinkley.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sally MacLean Templeton; daughters, Robin Templeton White (Mike) of Houston, Texas, and Ashley Paige Templeton (Chris Ostrowski) of Sayulita, Mexico; son, Russell (Whit) White Templeton, Jr. of Charleston, South Carolina; grandchildren, Brittany MacLean White, Rebecca Dene White, Alex Wynn Ostrowski, Trace McKane Ostrowski, Noelle MacKenzie Templeton, and many other loving family members and friends.
