Mrs. Sharon Kay Gipson

COLUMBIA Funeral service for Sharon Gipson, 73, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2015, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Mrs. Gipson died Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Born in Marlette, Mich., she was a daughter of the late Andrew McRobbie and Genevieve York. She graduated from Marlette High School in 1960. She served as secretary, treasurer and past president of the Military Order of Cooties. Mrs. Gipson was a member and two time past president and current district president for the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW#641. She loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Gipson was a member of Jackson Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are her son, Kenneth R. Gipson and his wife, Vilma, of Va.Beach, Va.; grandchildren, James, Joshua, Jericho and Nicholas; brother, Gilbert “Dick” McRobbie and sister, Genevieve Burton, both of Marlette, Mich. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Ray Gipson; son, Kevin Glen Gipson; and sisters, Helen Tedford and Jacquelin Davis.
