Sheila Berger Blacher

COLUMBIA - A graveside service for Sheila Berger Blacher, 79, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2022 in Beth Shalom Arcadia Lakes Cemetery. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Mrs. Blacher died Thursday, May 5, 2022. Born in New York, New York, she was a daughter of the late Hyman S. Berger and Helen Brown Berger. She taught English as a second language in citizenship. Mrs. Blacher was a member of Beth Shalom Synagogue and was a past president of Beth Shalom Sisterhood. Surviving are her daughters, Cynthia Wollner, Michele Levy, and Leslie Gottschalk (Edward); son-in-law, Travis Roplewski; six grandchildren, Ben Young, Evan Young, Helania Williams, Hannah Roplewski, Clarissa Gottschalk, and Nathan Gottschalk; brother, Ira Berger; sister, Joan Cozart; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harvey Blacher; daughters, Tara Roplewski and Heidi Young; and brother, Arthur Berger.
