Teena Toth Hanly

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with The Reverend Jane Mitchum officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive family and friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Teena was born August 16, 1953 in the Ft. Sherman, Panama Canal Zone Hospital to LTC Louis L. and Mrs. Marjorie P. Toth. One of four Toth children, Cathy, Teena, Louis and Allison. Raised in Columbia, South Carolina, educated at Brennan Elementary, Creighton Middle, A.C. Flora High and The University of South Carolina.

Never one to say no to an adventure, Teena married a young New York born and raised Army officer and spent the next 20 years of their life together in Germany, Kansas, Virginia, Kansas Part 2, Texas, Brisbane, Australia and Columbia, South Carolina. Home base was located in each of these areas but neighboring cities, countries and continents became her stomping grounds. Anywhere she traveled in her wide wonderful world she never met a stranger and friendships lasted a lifetime. After 10 years of trying, Teena was blessed with two baby boys; Cullen, her Texan and Keaton, her Australian Olympic baby. Always willing to give life lessons, she would want us all to remember, Choices, Moments, Impacts and Memories.

Pat’s life has been significantly diminished with her departure because to him she was NEVER A DULL MOMENT.

In addition to her father, LTC (Ret.) Louis Toth, she is predeceased by brother-in-law, Buck Madden.

Survivors include her mother, Marjorie P. Toth, her husband of 40 years, LTC (Ret.) Patrick D. Hanly, her sons, Cullen P. Hanly, Keaton P. Hanly, her pups, Caleb, Jake, Mac, Lexi, Hugo, Izzy and Radha. Siblings, Cathy Sturkie and husband, Dr. D. Kinly Sturkie, "Doctor Funk", Louis L. Toth, Jr. and wife Renae, Allison Toth and legions of nieces, nephews and surrogate sons and daughters.
