Ardell Donald Worchel

Ardell D. Worchel of Concord, NH passed away peacefully at home on May 25, 2026 at the age of 93. Ardell was born on February 12, 1933 in Neillsville, Wisconsin, the son of Ewald Worchel and Lila Beyer Worchel. He attended high school in Greenwood, WI graduating as valedictorian of the class of 1951.

Ardell served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and at retirement in 1972 had achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. He married Elaine Peat on August 28, 1954 and together they moved their family wherever he was stationed with the exception of Vietnam. They made housekeeping in MA, Texas, FL, The Philippines, New York, Alabama and ultimately settled in Manchester, NH for many years. Ardell retired once again from Sanders Corp. in Nashua, NH. He also received a Bachelor's Degree in accounting from NH College (Southern, NH University) Once their children were grown they built their dream home in Lyman, NH where Ardell worked as an accountant and assisted his wife with art shows. In 2005 he and Elaine moved to Concord, NH for their retirement years.

Ardell was predeceased by both parents, by his wife Elaine in 2023, by their son Harlan (wife Carrie also deceased) and by infant son Dennis, by his sisters Louise, Edith and Mardene and by his brothers Louis, Harley and Calvin.

He is survived by his son Mark (wife Linda) of Danielson, CT; daughter Susan Stencavage (husband Jim) of Hooksett, NH; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements will be made by Bennett Funeral Home and will consist of burial with military honors at the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH on June 10th at 12:00PM. There will be no calling hours.
