
He leaves his wife of 65 years, Doris (Zocchi) Luneau, his son David J. Luneau and wife Henrietta of Hopkinton, NH, his son Brian G. Luneau and wife Lauren of Houston, TX, his grandchildren Abigail Luneau recent graduate of UNH, Luke Luneau at MIT, and Jackson, Ryder and Tucker Luneau of Houston; his sister and brother-in-law Ann and Joe Lapchick of Hilton Head, NC, brother Richard Luneau of Hilton Head, NC; and brother-in-law John Zocchi of Naples, FL, many nieces and nephews.
Born in Laconia, NH, the son of Alfred and Lena Luneau, he served with the armed forces in World War II and the Korean War
Mr. Luneau graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1950 with a bachelor's degree in Business.
Mr. Luneau was the proprietor of Gibson’s Book Store in Concord for many years, and later developed Fairhaven Farm in Hopkinton, a certified-organic blueberry farm.
Mr. and Mrs. Luneau later relocated to Jackson, NH where they enjoyed hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, and he was a member of Jackson Historical Society, and several chorale groups including the Bach Festival Chorus in North Conway, NH.
Mr. Luneau had a passion for literature, particularly the writings of Henry David Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson, and had an extensive library of their works. He also had a passion for the environment and sustainable agriculture.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held at 2pm on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Pleasant View Retirement, 227 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Audubon Society of New Hampshire, 3 Silk Farm Road, Concord, NH where he was a longtime member.
