
Byron served in the Pacific with the Navy in World War II. Afterwards he earned his Bachelors and Masters and then moved to New Hampshire to start his career in Social Work. It was at the former Daniel Webster Home in Franklin that he met Angela Taylor and married her in 1960. They enjoyed 34 wonderful years until Angela’s passing in 1994.
Byron loved fishing, especially fly fishing with his sons, wood carving, ballroom dancing, weekly Pinochle card games and he even started roller skating with his granddaughter in his 70s.
He is survived by his children Dale and his wife Diane of Belleville, IL, David and his wife Michele of West Burke, VT, his granddaughter Elizabeth of Emporia, KS and his brother John and his wife Juanita of Beaverton, OR.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
Calling hours will be held from 12pm to 2pm on this Friday, February 13th at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main St, Concord, NH. A short memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 2pm with burial in Calvary Cemetery in Penacook, NH immediately following.
