Cher was employed for many years managing the Valet service for Concord Hospital. Her love and fondness for the many people she touched with her warm smile, her friendly “Welcome to Concord Hospital” hellos and her open heart were welcomed by patients and employees alike. Because of all of this she was nominated and awarded the prestigious HALO award given by the Hospital. And for many she was thought of as the face of Concord Hospital, as she was the first person they met and the last person to say goodbye as they left the campus. Cher treasured those she met and friendships she made there. It was always a private joke that when she passed Cher would be at the gates of heaven holding those gates open to all that entered saying “Welcome to Heaven “ with her eyes lit up and that perfect smile.
Cher always laughed when hearing that. As of today, she is doing just that.
Cher also enjoyed hiking, the Great North Woods, fishing, laughter and always a smile.
Cher is survived and will be forever loved and never forgotten by her partner in life Janine Turner of Concord NH; also a brother and his wife, Gil and Shelley Duquette of Weare, NH; a son, Cain Duquette of Hooksett, NH; and a daughter and her husband, Nicole and Kevin Surette of Londonderry NH; her loving niece and nephew Kiaya and Maddox; and her two beloved grandsons Logan and Jameson.
God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered, “Come to me.”
Friends may call at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Concord, on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 4pm-6pm. A memorial service will take place at 6pm at the funeral home.
