

LOUDON – Charley J. Stearns, 83 died suddenly on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at his residence in Loudon.
Mr. Stearns was born on January 13, 1932, in Fayette, Iowa, the son of the late Alfred and Thelma Mae (Baker) Stearns. He was a resident of Loudon for the past 38 years.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the United States Army.
Prior to retirement, he was employed as a biologist for the Federal Fish & Wildlife Department.
Mr. Stearns hobbies and interests include; antiques, fishing, hunting, gardening and bird watching.
Family members include; his wife of 57 years, Lourene (Bingley) Stearns, of Loudon, NH; three sons, Dal W. Stearns, of Somerville, MA; Dane A. Stearns, New Orleans, LA; Paul J. Stearns, Loudon, NH; one daughter, Jennifer L. Dawes, of Myrtle Beach, SC; 5 grandchildren; four brothers, Milford Stearns, John Stearns, Allen Stearns, Edward Stearns, four sisters, Laurel Erhardt , Kay Puffett , Mavis Heyer, Janis Test, and many nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be on Sunday, May 10, 2015, from 6:00 – 8:30 PM at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, in Concord. A funeral service will be held on Monday, 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 90 Clinton Street, in Concord. Committal prayers and military honors will follow at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, in Boscawen.
