

Born in Lawrence, MA she was the daughter of Halbert W. and Helen (Snow) Dow. A school teacher, she began her career in New Salem, MA in the early 1950s. After moving to western MA, she taught in the towns of Monson and Palmer until she moved to New Hampshire, where she taught at Pittsfield Elementary School until retiring in 2000.
Constance was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Concord, NH. She was involved in several clubs and groups, including the Afternoon Book Discussion Group at the Chesley Memorial Library in Northwood, NH, the Nottingham Book Discussion Group and the Knitting Group in Northwood, NH. She enjoyed reading, knitting, quilting, and had a lifelong love for opera.
Survivors include her eight children- Martha-Jean Madison and her husband Robert of Northwood, NH, Garrie A. Stoutimore of Manchester, NH, Robin L. Johnson and her husband Stewart of Palmer, MA, Scott A. Madison and his wife Laurel of Exeter, NH, Teri M. Thomas of Monson, MA, Kevin D. Madison and his wife Terri of Northwood, NH, Eric H. Madison and his wife Colleen of East Longmeadow, MA and Melissa A. Rowell and her husband Gordon of Derry, NH. She is also survived by two sisters- Evelyn Quinn and her husband George of Dover, NH and Elizabeth Ramsay of Quinby, VA, thirty-five grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles W. Madison in 1998.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 27, 2010 from 2PM to 4PM and from 6PM to 8PM at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Concord, NH.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 10:30AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 180 Loudon Road, Concord, NH.
