Born in Rochester, New Hampshire, David was the son of Gladys and Phil Morrison. He graduated from Spaulding High School in 1959 and went on to earn a degree in Library Science from the University of New Hampshire.
In 1964, David married the love of his life, Joyce Kendall. Together, they shared 61 years of a joy-filled, adventurous, and steadfast marriage—a partnership marked by laughter, exploration, and unwavering devotion.
A proud veteran, David served in the United States Air Force, spending time in the Philippines and Thailand. After his service, he began a long and dedicated career as a Corporate Librarian at Sanders Associates—later Lockheed, and now known as BAE Systems—where his curiosity, intellect, and quiet kindness made a lasting impression on those who worked with him.
David found his greatest joy in nature. He spent countless weekends hiking, camping, and exploring the outdoors—often alongside the Boy Scouts of Troop 19 in Nashua, where he shared his love of the wilderness and spirit of adventure with generations of scouts.
In his retirement years, David and Joyce traveled to Ajo, Arizona, where he once again gave his time and heart to the natural world, volunteering at the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge.
A man of deep faith, David was an active member of several congregations throughout his life, including Pilgrim Church UCC in Nashua, Henniker Congregational Church, and most recently, South Church UCC in Concord.
David was predeceased by his parents, his brother Walter L. Morrison, his sister Carlotta King, and his beloved grandson Caleb T. Morrison. He is survived by his cherished wife, Joyce Morrison; his son, Paul David Morrison; granddaughter Casey K. Morrison; great-granddaughter Alder J. Morrison-Baker; and several loving nieces and nephews.
David will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his love of learning, and his deep appreciation for the beauty of the natural world. Above all, he will be remembered for the love he gave so freely to his family and friends.
