OBITUARY

Dennis R. Lunderville

July 22, 1946October 12, 2013

Dennis Lunderville, 67, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 12 at Concord Hospital. He was born and raised in Attleboro, Massachusetts, son of the late Joseph and Wanda (O’Gara) Lunderville. He received a degree in meteorology from Belknap College in 1968, and took pride in his 21 year career with the Air Resources Division of the NH Department of Environmental Services, where he retired as Director of the agency. Dennis was an avid golfer and gardener, and enjoyed sharing his harvest with friends and family. He has spent the last thirty-eight years in the home he shared with his wife and raised his children, in a neighborhood that he loved, amongst friends who will miss him, and not just because of the free veggies. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Mary Lunderville, his daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Roger Desroches of Pelham, N.H., his son and daughter-in-law Douglas and Kristin Lunderville of Adamstown Maryland, five loving grandchildren, and his brother, Joseph Lunderville of Attleboro, Massachusetts.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 16 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a memorial service at 6:00 P.M. at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, Concord.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may made to the American Diabetes Assn. 10 Speen Street, 2nd Floor, Framingham, Massachusetts 01701 or to the charity of one’s choice.

The Bennett Funeral Home of Concord is in charge of the arrangements.

MaryLou, My condolences to you and your family. One of my very first jobs was at ARA and it was Dennis who hired me. He was very good to me and was always very supportive. I am sure Gerry Grimard is very happy to see his old friend.
Rest in peace Dennis.

To the Lunderville Family..

I want to extend my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of Dennis who was a fellow meteorology student at Belknap College during the late 60s. Dennis was a year ahead of me and I remember seeing him several times over the years at various events. In fact, I was looking forward to seeing him at the recent Belknap College 50th year reunion as he had listed his name among alumni planning to attend.

Very sorry Mary, Doug, Melissa, and Joseph about Dennis. He and I go way back to 1952 and in grade 1 at Washington School in So. Attleboro. We got our Popcycles at Nelcris. Our teacher was Miss Hickey and Dennis was "teacher's pet" for sure. That big innocent smile served him well. In high school we caddied at Highland Country Club. Dennis always seemed to get the rich golfers from Balfour's who tipped well--perhaps that smile again in use. We reconnected again in our fifties and played racquetball in Concord, NH. Dennis is in our thoughts and prayers in a big way. Duane Johnson

To the Lunderville Family:

Wishing you peace during this difficult time.

I worked with Dennis at APCA/ARD from 1978 until he retired and have nothing but respect and gratitude for all that he did to maintain and preserve the environmental quality of the State of New Hampshire.

Rest in peace.

Mary and Family--
Very sorry about Dennis. We go way back to 1952 when I met Dennis in grade 1 at Washington St. School in So. Attleboro. That was a while ago, huh? Our teacher was Miss Hickey and I remember she had a crush on Dennis, honest! I remember him blushing about it at recess with that great big grin he had. In high school we caddied at Highland Country Club. Dennis always somehow arranged to get the bigger tippers. Probably that big smile again put to use. We reconnected in our 50's and played racquetball in Concord, NH. Again, so sorry, Mary. Dennis is in our thoughts and prayers. Duane Johnson
