

Born in Everett, MA he was the son of the late Malcolm W. Coburn and Gladys (Coburn) Aiton.
He was a graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1952 and graduate of the Boston Architectural Center in 1958. He was a long standing member of AIA and was an architect for many years in the Boston area, while also teaching at BAC. In 1985 he founded Design Concepts Associates in Bow
He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox and enjoyed boating and golf. He loved the Island of Hawaii and renewed his wedding vows with his beloved wife there last year.
He is survived by his wonderful wife of 26 years, Joyce E. (Leonardi) Coburn; his children Donald Coburn, Jr. and his wife Jennifer, Lynne Fergon and her husband Scott, Kenneth Coburn and his wife Karen, Karen Stifel, Kellie Booth and her husband William, Karen Smith and her husband Bailey and Christopher Neilson and his wife Debbie; as well as ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was predeceased by his first wife Ann (Bernardi) Coburn and son-in-law Quentin Stifel.
A celebration of his life will be held at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Concord, on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 11am. There will be no calling hours per his wishes.
Interment will follow at Evans Cemetery in Bow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105,or to the Payson Center at Concord Hospital, 250 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH 03301.
