
Esther Helen (Arnold) Quinn, 96, a longtime resident of Hopkinton and Concord, NH, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family from natural causes on Friday, November 22, 2013, at the Concord Regional Visiting Nurses Hospice House, in Concord.
She was born on June 1, 1917, in Liberty, IL the daughter of the late Frederick and Mary (Gramke) Arnold.
Esther attended Western Illinois University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree. She was married to Carl E. Quinn on July 17, 1943 in Macomb, IL.
She was an elementary school teacher in her early working career. She was an active volunteer to various organizations and institutions throughout her life. Most of all she was devoted to her family for whom she was always the loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved classical music, reading and traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad.
Members of her family include; her three children, Kathleen Arch and son-in-law, Dennis of Suffield, CT; Thomas Quinn and daughter-in-law, Joyce of Bow, NH; Marcia Regan and son-in-law, John, of Concord, NH; seven grandchildren, who lovingly reference to her as Nan, Kristen Fete and husband, Timothy; Brian Quinn and wife Tacy, Kevin Arch and wife, Rebecca; Meghan Wertheimer and husband Peter; Katherine Regan, Jason Arch and Michael Regan; and ten great grandchildren. Mrs. Quinn was predeceased by her husband, of 63 years, Carl E. Quinn, who died in 2003.
Her family will fondly remember her kindness, compassion, integrity and strength of spirit.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 29, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, in Concord. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist, 72 South Main Street, in Concord. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Blossom Hill Cemetery, in Concord.
