CONCORD – Frank E. Taylor, 87 died on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at The Hospice House, in Concord.
Mr. Taylor was born on October 19, 1926, in Verdun, Quebec, Canada, son of the late, Frank S. and Gertrude J. (Edmonds) Taylor. Mr. Taylor and his wife were residents of Bow and Concord, NH, since 2005. Prior to this they lived in Hattiesburg, MS, Lynnfield, MA, Black River, NY and Montreal, Quebec.
Mr. Taylor was a mechanical engineer and was employed by Georgia Pacific and Black Clawson for many years. While raising the family in Lynnfield, he was Vice President of Frank H. Davis Company in Cambridge, MA.
Mr. Taylor was a member of the First Congregational Church, Concord, NH. He served on the Mission Committee, volunteered at the church homeless shelter and also provided rides to fellow seniors in the area. While residing in Hattiesburg and Lynnfield, he was also very active in church life. In Black River and Lynnfield, Mr. Taylor was a scout master for 25 years. His hobbies and interests were many, including fishing, hiking, camping, and woodworking. Prior to and throughout his retirement years, he traveled extensively with his beloved wife Gertrude, sister, Phyllis, and family to England, France, Spain, and throughout the US and Canada.
Members of his family include; his wife of 62 years, Gertrude M. (Osborne) Taylor, of Concord, NH; two sons, Scott Taylor, of Maynard, MA; Drew Taylor and Heather Doyle of Lynnfield, MA; daughter, Pamela Geiger and her husband, David, of Hopkinton, NH; grandchildren, Trent Taylor and Martine Taylor of Lynnfield, MA, Emma Geiger of Hopkinton and Amanda Doyle as well as four nieces, Marissa Ginn, and their families. Mr. Taylor was predeceased by sister, Thelma Ginn and nephew Eric Ginn, and sister Phyllis Taylor.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be Monday, May 19, from 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, in Concord. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, 11:00 AM at First Congregational Church, 177 North Main Street, in Concord.
