
She was born on January 28, 1927in East Greenwich, RI to the late Louis and Christina Maddalena. She was predeceased by all her siblings, Armand Maddalena, Harold Maddalena, Yolanda Librizzi and Janet Pinto.
She leaves behind her family she loved dearly which includes her 2 daughters, Shirley DellaVentura of East Greenwich RI and Cynthia (Cindy) Flynn of Concord NH who she resided with in the last year of life. She also leaves her 3 grandchildren with their spouses, Richard DellaVentura and his wife Elisa of Valparaiso IN, Lisa DeCiantis and husband, Stephen of Raleigh NC and Anthony (Tony) Paveglio and his wife Amanda of Salisbury NH as well as her 6 great grandchildren, Amanda, Daniel and Gabriela DellaVentura of Indiana, Abigail and Zachary DeCiantis of NC, and Piper Lynn Paveglio of Salisbury NH.
Gloria’s employment career started at Quonset Naval Base in RI and then many years for the Federal Govt. with the Social Security Admin. After her retirement she worked another 10 years with the State of NH, Labor Dept.
Gloria was known to many with her special nicknames such as GEM, Sarg., “Ma”, Gram and esp. GiGi. At the end she was the pretty lady in Pink. You can honor Gloria by wearing PINK. Her love and kindness will be missed by many. Her favorite words were Thank you and I Love You.
Calling hours will be Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, Concord from 5-7pm with a memorial service following at 7:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 11am at Our Lady of Mercy Church in East Greenwich RI. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest with her Italian family of origin at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in East Greenwich RI.
