Herbie was an avid hunter, focusing on deer, turkey and the occasional bear. He had many hunting stories that he would share at the NRA. As a mechanic, it was natural for him to be around cars, and always watching car shows. He spent many years at Bonneville and Son working on cars. He enjoyed watching documentaries and shows regarding the mystery and tracking of Bigfoot. His love for dogs extended out to the New England Old English Sheepdog Rescue, which led to him fostering and loving many dogs.
Herbie will be missed by so many, as the impact he had on his community is irreplaceable.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Hardy; his children, Bruce Richard Jr, Theresa Samaniego, and Ramon Samaniego; his sisters, Barbara Cornelius, Sheila Dixon, and sisters-in-law Maureen Flynn and Karen Gaffney; his brothers-in law, Sean Flynn and Kevin Gaffney; his mother-in-law, Kathy Flynn; his grandchildren Nomar Samaniego, R.J Samaniego, and Legend Samaniego, and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by Judy Flynn Hardy; his parents, Herbert Hardy and Mildred Coulter Hardy, Harold Case, John Flynn (his father-in-law), and his sister Joan Hardy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 9, 2025 from 10AM-4PM at Herbies home. Please contact Mary for the information.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Herbie’s honor to the SPCA of Concord or the New England Old English Sheepdog Rescue.
