

Born December 17, 1923 in Lawrence, MA, he was the son of Dr. Harold C. Lacaillade and Susan T. (O’Bryan) Lacaillade.
He grew up in North Andover, MA. He has been a resident of Pembroke, NH for the past 55 years. He was a graduate of University of MA, Amherst earning a BS degree in biology and an MS degree from St. John’s in New York in zoology.
Mr. Lacaillade was employed by the NH Fish and Game Department as a biologist for 35 years before retiring in 1986. He was recognized for his efforts in migratory game birds in NH and throughout the Atlantic flyway.
He was also past director of the Northern NE Brittany Club, a member of Ducks Unlimited and the NH Waterfowl Association, which honored him its Waterfowler of the Decade Award.
He was a veteran of WWII and fought in the South Pacific as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army and earned military awards which included the Combat Infantry Medal, three Battle Stars, the Bronze Star and the Victory Medal.
He was a communicant of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Concord.
Family members include his wife of 58 years, Marguerite (Gosselin) Lacaillade; two sons, William B. and his wife Denise of Bedford, NH and Bruce J. and his wife Kathy of Pembroke, NH; four grandchildren, Bryan, Sarah, Chris and Kailey Lacaillade; his two sisters, Ann Dow of Haverhill, MA and Jane Holland of Wilmington, DE; plus several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 4p-7p at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Concord. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 10am at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 180 Loudon Road, Concord. Interment will follow at Pembroke Hill Cemetery, 4th Range Road, Pembroke.
