

Harriet was born on October 26, 1924 in Hanover, NH the daughter of Fred and Catherine (Dodge) Dirth.
She grew up in Loudon where she attended the local grammar school, and graduated from Concord High School.
In addition to being a homemaker and caring for her family, Harriet worked for 36 years as an Auditor for the NH State Treasury.
She was a longtime member of the Loudon Congregational Church. She was also a member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary of Loudon and of the Young at Heart group of Loudon.
Harriet always enjoyed hosting all her family’s events and holidays especially the fourth of July Chicken Barbecue and an Old Home Day lobster bake. She loved cooking, spending time with family and seeing them gather at her swimming pool.
She always exemplified a loving and compassionate heart especially the way she took care of her mother for 7 years.
Her family members include: a son Kenneth McLaren and his wife Linda of Concord; a daughter Linda Paddock and her husband Mark of Franklin; a sister Catherine “Lucille” Colby and her husband Arthur of Loudon, NH; 6 grandchildren: Keith McLaren and his wife Sandy; Ryan McLaren; LTC (Retired) Nathan Paddock and his wife Jennifer; Aaron Paddock and his wife Lori; Catherine Rainville and husband Craig; and Lucas Paddock, and 13 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 2 brothers Claude and Kenneth Dirth.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 form 6-8PM at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main St. in Concord. A Funeral Service will be Tuesday, March 8th at 11AM at the Loudon Congregational Church, located on Church Street in Loudon Village, Loudon NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Harriet’s memory to the CRVNA Hospice House, 30 Pillsbury St, Concord, NH 03301.
