
Heidi was born August 29, 1956 in Manchester, New Hampshire, the daughter of George and Hazel (Wilson) Hafeli. She grew up in Peterborough, New Hampshire, Southern Pines, North Carolina, Sarasota, Florida and Nashua, New Hampshire. She spent much time in her youth in Sharon, New Hampshire with her beloved grandparents Rose “Mimi” and Harold “Puppa” Wilson. Heidi graduated from The Lawrence Academy in Groton, Massachusetts and Rivier College, Nashua, New Hampshire, where she received a degree in Political Science in 1978.
In 1978, Heidi married James L. Sullivan and they settled in the Nashua area. In 1979, Heidi and James welcomed a their son, Ben, to their family.
Heidi delighted in knitting, walking, gardening, and picking berries, especially after relocating to Concord, NH in 2001, where she took great joy in their house and land. Heidi was a friend of all living things, with the notable exception of spiders and snakes. She, however, took particular joy in the companionship of her dogs, Spunky, Finnegan, and Sadie. From 2003 to 2007 Heidi was employed as a legal secretary at the Disabilities Rights Center in Concord.
Heidi is survived by her mother, Hazel Hafeli, of Sequim, Washington, her husband, James, her son, Ben, and daughter-in-law, Sara, both of Flagstaff, Arizona. She is predeceased by her father, George Hafeli.
An interment and celebration of Heidi’s life will be held in the autumn. Heidi would ask that donations be made to the Concord-Merrimack County SPCA, 130 Washington Street, Penacook, NH 03033-1522 or to the Alzheimer’s Association 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
