Jacob K. Andy (Jake) was born December 8, 1972 in Concord, New Hampshire to Gary and Molly Andy (deceased in 2001). He was raised in Concord attending local schools and graduating from Concord High in 1992. He enrolled one year at New Hampshire College in the culinary program.

Jake is survived by his father Gary Andy and Step Mom Gail Andy both of Concord, NH; his brother Gary Joseph Andy and his fiancée Tina Deshaies of Concord, NH; two nieces, Caroline and Kate; two step nieces Allison and Molly Waite; his grandparents Joseph (deceased) and Margaret Andy of Washington, PA; Art and Diane Kingsbury of Venice, FL; various Aunts and Uncles, Joe and Marianne Andy of Washington, PA, Art and Monica Kingsbury of Cape Cod; Bruce and Jen Kingsbury of Venice, FL; Paul Andy of Washington, PA; and an Aunt Donna who lives locally; also local family friends George and Deb Roussos; and many cousins who shared Jake’s life with him, taking trips, eating Thanksgiving dinner or sitting around laughing at life.

For the last six years, Jake worked at Concord Hospital in the environmental services department where he recently received a Halo Award for his service. At the hospital, besides his smile and good sense of humor, Jake was also known for baking and sharing his famous white chocolate macadamia nut with Kahlua cookies as surprises for various floors. He enjoyed his fellow workers. Jake also was a regular at Puppy Love Hot Dogs where he became acquainted with many people who became his friends.

Jake was truly a man about town. He loved people and he loved the city in which he lived. He shared his life with his family, friends, neighbors and two little kitties Butterscotch (rescued from an abandoned building) and Goldene. Jake delighted in music, especially Billy Joel and Jimmy Buffet. He also enjoyed swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing. He traveled to St. John, St. Lucia and Las Vegas.

The last few months were difficult ones for Jake. But through it all he showed people how to live life each day as best as one is able. He will be missed deeply by all who knew him. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 11am at United Baptist Church, 39 Fayette Street, Concord.

Dear Andy family,

News of Jake's passing was slow in reaching us here in Hanover but we wanted to add a few words to those of others. We have fond memories of Jake dating from the days when the Andy and Page families would get together in Concord. We hadn't seen Jake much in recent years but a couple of years back Ruth bumped into him in Concord and had a nice visit. He was a kind and caring person, and made the best of the difficulties life brought him. We all honor his memory.
Love from the Page family

Dear Gary and Family, I was so saddened to learn that Jake had passed. I keep thinking about Mollie and believe we are all joined again in death so I take consolation in that. I know these must be very difficult days for you all. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I was sorry to hear of Jake's passing. He always had a smile and asked with genuine concern about family. He was a good friend to my daughter throughout the early school years. He will be missed.

Dear Gary, So very sorry for your loss..Jake was always like a ray of sunshine when the kids were in school. The last time I saw him, and you, was at the hospital at the front desk, waiting for your wife you said. I couldn't believe how adult and handsome Jake was. I am so saddened as I read about Jake online from Florida. My sincere synpathies to you and your family. My children, Fred, Kristen, and Kathryn Mc Allister thought the world of Jake. Sincerely, Jeannie McAllister Hebert.

Jake had such a wonderful effect on everyone around him. Robby (Wolfe) and Bill(Mullen) would come home after working with jake and tell tales of the practical jokes they had all played on each other that night. He warmed alot of people.

Dear Family, I am very saddened to hear the news of Jakes passing. He was such a special man with a big smile, huge heart and a positive attitude.
I first met Jake in the halls of Concord High in the 90's and then years later we reconnected at "Granite Bank" on main street in downtown Concord where I worked at the time. It was always a real treat to see Jake come through the doors because he always had some candy, pictures to share of his cats, jokes or funny stories to brighten my day. I'll never forget the day Jake was so excited when he purchased his house. He was so proud as were all of us bank girls it was such a big accomplishment for such a young man to do on his own. I remember after work a co-worker and myself went over to see his new abode and Jake made us dinner and we visited his kitties too!
One thing about Jake that will always stick with me is his love for cats..we were both avid cat-people and enjoyed sharing our stories together.
I will miss seeing Jake around Concord when I'm home visiting. You're a true angel Jake and heaven sure has gained one with a sparking personality to shine all above!
God Bless you Jake and your kitties.

Dear Jake, As your family gathers today to celebrate your life, your cousins here in McLean, VA will be with them and you in spirit. I most remember you as the wonderful, cute little boy when my parents, brother, and I used to visit Concord during the summer and when you would come to Washington with your family. Seeing the photo gallery brought back all those pleasant memories and they will remain with me forever. Lorie and Norman, and daughters Natasha and Alexandra

I just heard today of Jake's passing and I am sadden by the news. I got to know Jake in Jr high and high school and he was without question a friend from the first minute. There are so many memories all of which involve a great deal of smiles and laughter, two things I suspect Jake had mastered very shortly after coming into this world. He was one of the most caring people I have ever met and always lent an ear to a friend in need. I have seen Jake a few times in recent years in various places in Concord, or I should say he saw me and quickly came over to say hi and we picked up right where we last left off. My best to the whole family during this sad time. I have no doubt Jake is smiling down on us all.
God Speed my friend.
