Jason M. Massey August 29, 1981 – March 11, 2012

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jason Michael Massey. Jason was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, March 11, 2012. Jason will always be remembered for his humanity and devotion to those he knew as well as to strangers.

He could never pass a motorist in need without stopping to help them with their troubles. In so many instances, Jay’s day as an RN in the ICU & ER at Concord Hospital did not end with the end of his shift. He was always there for family to help someone through a cold or a virus, ache or pain. Jay was devoted to his family and never thought twice about working an extra shift to pay the bills.

Jay graduated from Pembroke Academy and went on to NHTI to earn his degree in nursing. Most recently he was enrolled at Franklin Pierce pursuing his bachelors to master’s degree in nursing. Jay also worked with various groups at Concord Hospital.

Jay will be dearly missed by his wife and best friend, Kelley. He also leaves his son, Cullum, who was his pride and joy, and son Weston who is expected to arrive any day. Jay leaves behind his father and mother, Scott and Barbara Anstey, brother and close friend, Matthew Anstey, brother Michael Brussard and sisters Krystal Anstey and Tessa Smith, grandparents Ron and Shirley Anstey and Cynthia Coulter, his uncle Philip Massey. Jay is also survived by his mother and father-in-law Janice and James Tuttle as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece and nephew. Last but certainly not least, Jay leaves behind his core group of devoted friends since middle school, Robert Bowen and Stephen Arling.

Calling hours will be from 1-3 followed by a Celebration of Life and reception at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 14 Mammoth Road, Hooksett, NH. In lieu of flowers a contribution may be made with a check payable to the Massey Family, c/o Citizens Bank, 54 Main Street, Pittsfield, NH 03263 to help defray costs and to benefit Cullum and Weston.

The Bennett Funeral Home of Concord is in charge of the arrangements.

Jason, Jason, Jason, it is very difficult to fight back the tears as I write. To say that you will be missed is a severe understatement. I started this not sure what to say.I wanted to tell you how much you meant to my family, but Kristy already covered that a few post back. I wanted tell you to not to worry about Kelly and the kids, but again Trina kind of summed that up in her post. So what is left?

You were a brother to me…the void you have left in my life is vast. I have been doing a lot of thinking about the past, and keep thinking of all the fun we shared as kids and now that we are all grown up how much tighter that bond had become between the four of us. I also thought of your clumsiness and all the “things” you have broken over the years Nintendo controllers, iPods, radios, you get the point, oh wait fishing reels (lots of those). I am being gracious and wont list your luck with cars. I also thought of how you made the easiest of tasks into work that only an engineer could fix once you were done with it, I am pretty sure Kelly, your parents, Jimmy, Uncle Phil, Matt and Steve would understand what I am talking about.

Well you have done it to me again; you managed to break something only a few people in the world could accomplish… my heart, Jay.

Once again you have made the simplest of “things” in life the most difficult one I have ever faced and that is saying, “Good bye” Jay.

Heck at least you were always consistent…

Love you Jay

Jason, I will never forget all the times you and Kelley offered me a place to stay or how many kind words you fed me. You are amazing. I will never ever ever forget you. There are so few out there like you.

It is with great sadness that I hear the news of Jason. I always had hoped to come back to Concord and work along side. You are a terrific nurse and were a great leader at NHTI - I always smiled when I sat in Marty Hunt's office and saw your mohawk next to Lynn K at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the student center. Jason - they broke the mold when they made you. Concord Hospital and Student Senate banquets will never be the same. Barb I wiss you the best and I am deeply sorry for this sudden loss.

Jay was a always a joy. Whenever I saw him he had a smile on his face and always made me feel good. He had a wonderful gift of happiness and humor. He will be sorely missed by everyone who had the luck to meet him. I am so sorry for his family as I can only imagine their immense grief. Prayers for you all and know that heaven has another angel.
