Jean Laska Ladd, 88-years-old, Jean was born on January 28, 1924 in Concord, NH to Henry and Anna Randall, died on Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Pleasant View Nursing home where she has resided for the last 10 years, after her stroke in 2002 left her paralyzed, Jean’s battle resumed in December 19th after another stroke. Her strong will to live, faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends carried her through the holidays.
Known for her ease in frequent conversation with even total strangers, some may be surprised to learn of the extreme heartache of her youth. She possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten.
After World War II she met her husband Robert W. Ladd Sr. at Page Belting when he returned from war. Married for nearly 65 years, Jean and Robert raised their 4 dear children, Robert, David, Vicki and Bonnie over the years in Bow, NH. Possessing a true servant’s heart, Jean faithfully cared for family and friends through delicious cooking and baking from scratch – including cake decorating, sewing and crafting. With a real zest for life, Jean loved to dance, sing, sew, crochet, knit, garden and play cards …just to name a few.
In her final days she was comforted and surrounded by her immediate loving family and her loving and caring niece, Barbara Locke and great niece Kyme Locke.
Her surviving family members are numerous, but mainly include: Her loving husband of 65 years: Robert W. Ladd, Sr., Her four children and their spouses: Robert W.
