

She was born July 1, 1934, in Nashua, NH the daughter of Harlan and Dorothy Atherton. Joan married her high school sweetheart Allan “Skip” Davis, whom she had a long happy marriage with until his passing in 2008.
Joan was more than a wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother; she was a friend. She was devoted to her family and the community of Concord where she lived most of her life.
She taught at the Walker School, was involved with Girl Scouts, the Pierce Manse Brigade, Song Weavers, touching the lives of everyone who knew her.
In addition to her husband Skip, she was predeceased by her daughter, Cynthia Thornton. She is survived by her brother Allan Atherton and his wife Peggy; her son Mark Davis; granddaughters, Kelli Barrett and her husband Brandon, Katherine Maglia and her husband Nick; grandson, Gregory Davis; and great granddaughters Maci Barrett are Amari Maglia.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on August 10th at Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord, NH followed by a celebration of life at the Red Blazer restaurant. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pierce Manse Brigade in Joan’s memory.
