We only met Joan once at the reunion, but she was someone who stuck out in the crowd. Our wishes are with all of you during this time. Very nice lady.

Joan was one of the most intelligent and compassionate women I have ever known. Her greatest love was her family. She lived her life with courage right to the end. I always felt fortunate to have known her. Her memory lives on in many hearts. She will never leave any of you. She loved you all so much. Elaine Plummer

I did not know Joan personally, however it sounds like she was truly an inspiration to all the lives she touched and will be greatly missed not only by her loving family but by friends as well . So to all I wish to express my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your dear Joan truly a woman gone too soon. May your deep love and warm memories carry you through in the days to come.

Although I do not believe I have ever met Joan, it saddens me to hear about the passing of one my league family members. As John Donne wrote "do not ask for whom the bell tolls it tolls for thee" You are all in my prayer's God Bless.

I met Joan when our sons played basketball together and then was pleased to see her again at the League where she worked and I was an artist. We shared books to read and our dreams. I wanted to be a bead artist and she wanted to be a nurse. When she left to pursue that dream, we lost touch, but I am not surprised that she thrived as a nurse. Joan was a caring person and a good listener. I am so sad to learn of her loss.
