After graduating from Howe High School in Billerica, MA he settled into a career in the printing industry at the Billerica News, Courier Citizen, Lowell Sun, Rumford Press, Nashua Telegraph and Beacon Publishing. John graduated from Lowell University and went on to work as an engineer at Wang Labs, Digital Equipment, US Dept. of Transportation, and Fidelity Investments until retirement. After transitioning to retirement, he started a small company, Rowecraft in which he built furniture and décor and in his spare time he freelanced building and maintaining websites and writing codes for websites.
John’s recent hobby was creating beautiful wooden décor out of rare wood, and giving them away to friends, neighbors and family. Historically his love for the mountains led him to hike the 48/4000 footers in NH. He loved to share his hiking experiences with his granddaughter, Katlyn who also is an avid hiker. He loved sharing his experiences of building with his grandson, Dan. He wanted all his grandchildren to know how much he loved them and how proud he was of all their achievements.
John leaves behind three adult children, Catherine (Rowe) Robitaille, Steven Rowe and John Rowe; four adult grandchildren, Daniel Robitaille, Katlyn Robitaille, John Rowe and Kristy Rowe and three great-grandchildren.
John will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Jean (Stilson) Rowe at Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord, NH on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 10AM.
