Jon Emile Richardson

Jon Emile Richardson, born on 03/29/1938, passed away on 09/21/2026 at the age of 88. Although he was a recent resident of Dover, NH, he spent most of his years in Contoocook, NH. Jon’s wife Doris is the love of his life, and they recently celebrated 66 years of marriage. They were great role models who centered their lives around their loving family and wonderful friends.

Jon’s life traced a steady arc of craftsmanship, curiosity, and care - marked by the quiet pride of work done well and the enduring warmth of family held close. From the beginning, Jon carried a mind built for learning and innovating. He pursued his education through the University of New Hampshire and a GE Apprenticeship, foundations that shaped the thoughtful precision he brought to each chapter that followed. Jon’s working life reflected both skill and adaptability. He served as an Engineer with HMC Corporation and simultaneously took on the independence and responsibility owning Richardson Power Equipment. Later, he transitioned to a Sales Engineer position with Hydro Air of CT, bringing technical understanding together with the ability to connect with people.

Jon found joy in pursuits that invited both patience and passion, including his time with the Mustang Club of NH. He could always be found at car shows where he shared stories of his Cool 68 Convertible and GT390 Fastback Mustangs while bonding with other car lovers. Another passion was the careful art of wine making under his infamous label Mustang Vineyards. Other hobbies were kayaking, gardening, camping, and he had a gift for home improvement, always seeing what could be repaired, strengthened, or made more welcoming through his skill of woodworking. He was a voracious reader, loved watching Jeopardy! and doing daily crossword puzzles all from his favorite leather recliner. These were not merely hobbies, but expressions of a life lived with attentive hands and an appreciative eye. Jon was a grounded and faithful member of his community, dedicated to both the Contoocook United Methodist Church and the Masons.

In remembering Jon Richardson, we remember a life shaped by steady purpose and simple, lasting joys, work approached with integrity, and a family and community enriched by his enduring devotion.

At the heart of Jon’s life was his family. He is survived by his wife, Doris Richardson, his children and their spouses; Dan & Georgina Richardson, J. Scott & Cheryl Richardson, Toni & Richard Morena, Evan & Jessica Richardson, and his sister, Jean Holmes. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Susan Alexander, Dean Alexander, Heath Searles, Nicole Searles, Alyson Richardson, Owen Richardson, Alayna Morena, Danielle Morena, and by his great-grandchildren; Ryan Alexander and Emma Ramsey.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Jon's honor on Saturday, October 17, 2026 from 12-3 at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N Main St Concord, NH. Light refreshments will be shared amongst memories and stories that Jon left behind in his family and friends.
