

Reverend LaFayette Pinckney, passed away Tuesday, Oct 11 at Presidential Oaks Nursing Home in Concord, where he had just celebrated his 90th birthday. His lifelong passion of serving Christ and sharing Christ marked his days.
Fay was born Oct 9, 1921, along with his twin brother LaVerne, in Brewster, NY. He was active in Brewster High School sports, served in the US Army during WWII, worked for the NY Central Railroad and Suburban Propane in Connecticut before pursuing his calling to Pastor.
He graduated from Houghton College in 1965 and became pastor of Epsom Baptist Church until 1973. He served as a pastor at Calvary Bible Church in Derry (1973-1975) and Contoocook Baptist Church (now Countryside Community Church) from 1975 until 1987.
Visiting hours are Friday, Oct 14 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm-9pm at the Bennett Funeral Home, 3 Church Street Chapel (the Brick Building), Concord. The funeral Service is Saturday, Oct 15 at 10:30 at Countryside Community Church, 815 Main Street, Contoocook, followed by a Committal service at Contoocook Village Cemetery at 12:30, a reception at 1pm back at the church followed by a Hymn Sing at 2:30.
LaFayette is survived by his wife Geneva of Contoocook, and 6 children, Carole Coe of Henniker, Butch Pinckney of Stuarts Draft, VA, Phillip Pinckney of Stephen City, VA, David Pinckney of Chichester, Tana Montore and Rena Forrester both of Contoocook. He also is survived by one brother, Earl Pinckney, 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
